Topic: Should I buy the Yamaha DGX-670

I'm wondering of the DGX-670 is any good for Pianoteq, from what I've tested it in store (Guitar Center), the action seems pretty nice, not the best but also not the worst, speakers are overall pretty fantastic despite their size, and the internal features are amazing. (I play live sometimes and love the auto backing feature)

What I want to know more about it is if its good for playing with Pianoteq, if anyone owns one and uses it with Pianoteq, tell me your experience, if not, maybe tell me more about why it could be good and its cons.

I'm thinking of buying it soon (on the 16th), let me know your thoughts!

(for reference I'm coming from a Williams Allegro IV which i have outgrown a lot by now and mainly just use it as a midi controller since the speakers aren't of best quality.)

From what I've read it does not have the best key action. For that budget, maybe you can look at something from CASIO? If you stretch your budget a little more, you can have the very respectable PX-S3100. For less, the Privia line is still pretty good.

If you don't mind getting used gears, you maybe able to find some gems on FB Marketplace.

I have read online that yes the action is not the best out there, personally I think its fine (bit lacking compared to a Clavinova I tried), and unfortunately I cant really stretch my budget that much to get a Casio, but thanks for the feedback.

I would still try to look into FB Marketplace first. You should be able to score some top line models a few generations old. If they are in good shape, my money would still go towards that instead of one with inferior key action, which is the most important aspect when used with Pianoteq.

You can also consider the Kawai ES110. I see some places listed around your budget. I had the older model ES100 and it had pretty good key action for its price range. Also I found that Casio has the PX-S1100 right at your budget. I would start with that first. It's a brand known for great values for its price.

I will try and find some on FB Marketplace, if I cant find a good one soon Ill see alternatives like the ES110 or PX-S1100 that you stated if said are available in store, if not (likely) ill go with the DGX-670 as I do prefer its arranging functions though the older action is a con. (Compared to the no-name graded hammer action of my current Allegro IV, its a league ahead but not the best out there.)
