Topic: Update 9.2.0. (June 5th 2026)

Thank you, Modartt team, for this update. I downloaded it this evening and noticed the difference straight away. I loaded up the Steingraeber Warm preset and the attack on this just works for me.

I see that there have been performance improvements according to the changelog.
Are you able to elaborate on this?

One thing I have noticed is thar the decay of velocity indicators in the velocity pane is quicker. I think this is an improvement.

I like the 3D keyboard. Very appealing.

Thanks again all,

Warmest regards,

Chris

Re: Update 9.2.0. (June 5th 2026)

Thanks! There isn't much to say about the performance improvements. A part of the computation that had become quite prominent in Pianoteq 9 has been vectorized to reduce its CPU load. On Apple Silicon devices, we were also missing a compiler flag that enables fused multiply-add instructions, so there's some additional performance gain there as well.

Glad you noticed the velocity indicators, we have updated the gui toolkit we use and have taken advantage of some of its new features regarding animations. A side effect is that we also have a few new bugs so expect a v9.2.1 very soon.

The 3D keyboard was also quite complicated, so we're happy you like it

Yes, the 3D keyboard looks very nice, love it!

Hi,

Julien,
Did you change something to the sensitivity of velocity ?
It seems to me that the high velocities are easier to obtain with the same keyboard setting.

Thks

Hi. There's been some posts on the Dorico forum, about the regression with microtonal rendition. I notice that I can get some results using the Pitch Bend method, but I think Pianoteq did deliver perfect results with VST Note Expression before (or was it detune ? Or Auto ?)
Is something here broken? Could it be fixed? (Pianoteq used to work so flawlessly with Dorico that it was an instant go-to for anyone wanting good results fast…)
Thanks in advance.

No, there should not be any change, you can still download v9.1.2 if you want to compare.

It still works, we have checked recently, with Dorico 6. It works with the 'detune' method, you also have to remember to have 'midi tuning' enabled in options / midi.

Re: Update 9.2.0. (June 5th 2026)

We have just released v9.2.1 btw.

Glad you like it! It was particularly fun creating the "a la Flanagan" preset, his music is so inspiring , I love his album "Tommy Flanagan Plays The Music Of Harold Arlen" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aux6P4HHSYA.

Re: Update 9.2.0. (June 5th 2026)

I agree, however I would like to ask. The soft pedal (una corda) supposed to move the piano slightly to the right instead of the left, right? The new 2D and 3D keyboard moves it to the left. Can anyone verify if it's a visual bug?

Aside from that though, I highly appreciate the new animations and a lot of hardworking people in the team!

Re: Update 9.2.0. (June 5th 2026)

you also have to remember to have 'midi tuning' enabled in options / midi.

Thank you so much. You are right, it works perfectly with those settings! I will quote your answer in the Dorico forum. Merci pour votre travail toujours remarquable

Although it is also a homage (unintended, it seems) to the pianos of yesteryear.

I don’t know if it a placebo effect or not   , but this version is snappier than ever on my Mac book M4 . Playability is second to none !

I can't download it now and you all made me curious now. Anybody dares to post a screenshot?

Where do I find a list of all posts I upvoted? :(

I would have to agree, it feels way snappier! Performance seems to me great on my M5 too!
