Gustaf Hägg (1867–1925) was a prominent Swedish organist, composer, and professor.

Roles:
He served as the organist at Klara Church in Stockholm from 1893 and was appointed Professor of Organ at the Royal Swedish College of Music in 1915.

Compositions:
He was a major figure in late Romantic Swedish music, known for works ranging from technically demanding large organ/orchestral pieces to smaller, accessible pieces for home harmoniums.

Legacy:
He was highly regarded as an organ expert, advising on organ building across Sweden and widely celebrated for his folk music arrangements.

Gustaf Hägg's music deserves to be much better known, and this Cantabile is absolutely gorgeous. The late-Romantic lyricism comes through beautifully, and your registration choices on Organteq 2 capture that warm, expressive character perfectly.
