Topic: OT2 - Silbermann-Organ (1714), Freiberg - Lübeck: Praeludium F-dur

Vincent Lübeck (1654 - 1740) was a prominent German composer of the North German Baroque organ tradition. He lived and worked for many years in Stade and Hamburg (Germany). He was regarded as an outstanding organist in his time. He composed sacred cantatas and works for organ and harpsichord.
The Prelude in F major is a distinctive work of the North German Baroque organ tradition. The composition has a clear structure and a virtuosic character. The Prelude also reflects the compositional style of Dietrich Buxtehude, yet possesses its own distinctive approach to melodic line and harmonic structure.

What a powerful and Majestic Piece Unruh !!!
I love the clear structure and the way the melodic lines interact. There is something so timeless about this organ tradition, and this recording captures the gradeur of the Freiberg Cathedral perfectly. Truly Inspiring.
