Topic: Arcangelo Corelli from 12 Trio Sonatas / Sonate da chiesa, Op. 3

From Arcangelo Corelli's 12 trio sonatas, Sonate da chiesa,  Opus 3, part of it

Beautiful beautiful work! Corelli is so underrated.
I’m keeping about same tempo as James Last in his ”Classics up to date 5”, 1978, which is a bit faster than Corelli have (Grave).

Syngular Lead Factory Whistle as soloist and 3 French Horn from Mac mini garageband as accompaniment.
Enjoy!

Corelli (1653 -1713) was the first composer to be famous exclusively for his instrumental music. His works were immensely popular during his lifetime and for a long time afterwards. His limited works were of pioneering importance for Baroque music.
Corelli wrote works for solo violin, for string trio and for chamber orchestra. His six opuses include only 48 trio sonatas, 12 concerti grossi, three quartet sonatas and a sinfonia, a total of 65 works.
Antonio Vivaldi, Georg Philipp Telemann, Giuseppe Tartini, Bach and Sergei Rachmaninov have paid tribute to him in their own works based on his ideas.

All the best, everyone

Wow, Stig!
This Corelli piece is magnificent, I wasn't familiar with it.
Every now and then I open some of Corelli's piano transcriptions and play them with passion, even though I've never studied them in depth.
Thanks for sharing.
