Topic: PT9 - Classical Guitar - de Lhoyer: Duo Nocturne - Binaural Mix

Binaural mix: For optimal sound, please use headphones.

Antoine de Lhoyer (1768 - 1852) was a French guitar virtuoso, composer and high-ranking officer whose life was shaped by the political upheavals of the French Revolution and the Napoleonic Wars.
The Duo Nocturne Opus 37 No. 1 is part of a collection of six nocturnes for two guitars that mark the transition from the Classical to the Romantic period. The duo is characterised by an elegant, early Romantic style. Lhoyer’s compositions for two guitars are renowned for their high technical demands. He often treats both guitars as equal partners, which was progressive for the time (around 1820). The title ‘Nocturne’ (night piece) suggests a rather intimate, song-like character, typical of early 19th-century salon music.

We released this recording several years ago. We have reinterpreted the composition, using the Classical Guitar from Pianoteq 9 and creating a binaural mix with dearVR PRO 2.
