I'm waiting too Yamaha...
@hleemhuis and Mr.st.andy
We already have a Yamaha - Grand YC5 - that we can use while we are waiting……and always.
”The YC5 Rock Piano is a virtual grand piano for PIANOTEQ which adds a lot of bite to your pop/rock recordings, and fits beautifully in a mix with drums and electric instruments. Its characteristic bright timbre is adapted for expressive playing and suitable also for some jazz recording sessions.
Modelled from a well known Japanese grand piano frequently seen on stages, the YC5 is perfect for producers, composers, and pianists looking for a versatile and powerful piano sound”.
Best wishes,
Stig

Please.
I'd love to see a new updated upright.
I think U4 is already well updated.
I think it sounds like a good upright piano. Why not use it already (as I also think about grand YC5 in a post above)
And among my over 700 recordings on Youtube/Recordings feat Ptq and Orgtq, an U4 recording is the most popular! with 30 thumbs up and is the piece that got most listens. People really like it and here in ”Recordings featuring Ptq and Orgtq”, every comment on the U4 piece are also very positive.
Here: A good sounding Upright U4, an improvisation, as a contrast to a Grand piano.
I have over 100,000 listens and the U4 piece has the most listens, most popular of all my pieces.

Thanks for sharing your recording, it sounds lovely.
I really like the U4 and it’s actually one of my favourite models in Pianoteq when I just want to sit down and practice for a while since it can be easier to the ears than some grand models. With that said the U4 is one of the older models in Pianoteq and whereas there are a plethoria of grand piano models there is only one upright. Why not add another with different character, perhaps from one of the existing brands within Pianoteq like a Bösendorfer 130 or Bechstein Concert 8. Or perhaps one of the lovely uprights from Grotrian Steinweg, even if the company doesn’t exist anymore. It also seems like the grand piano models have received more love from Modartt over the years than the U4 with updated models and revoicing, but I might be wrong about that.

Thank you johanibraaten for your kind words about my recording. Appreciate it.
”Why not add another with different character, perhaps from one of the existing brands within Pianoteq….”
Of course it would be fun to have another upright piano, different sounding from U4. But it probably depends on what Modartt prioritizes. Right now they might be working on a new piano or a completely new instrument - we got Syngular. Or maybe an update with new stuff in Organteq 2. Or something…..
As we have seen, Modartt is working all the time, but when something comes, it is always a nice surprise. In the meantime I enjoy U4.
Best wishes,
Stig
