Topic: WIDI Master: acceptable latency?

Hi everyone, I'm thinking about buying a CME WIDI Master to use Pianoteq and other music apps with an old iPad (6th generation) and a digital piano. Has anyone tried it? Is the latency acceptable? Because of course, on top of the Bluetooth latency (my iPad has version 4), there’s also the audio latency the iPad itself will add… Thanks!

Re: WIDI Master: acceptable latency?

I am using a CME WIDI Bud Pro to connect my MIDI-equiped Hoffmann grand piano to the iPad (7th gen). The piano transmits MIDI by Bluetooth and it is received by the WIDI Bud Pro (connected to the iPad with the USB to lightning "camera connection kit"). There is no latency that I can perceive.

I also use a pair of  CME WIDI Jack to connect two synthesizers together, and again no perceivable latency. I think that CME WIDI devices work as advertised.

Re: WIDI Master: acceptable latency?

Of course, it seems that I will have to do something similar if I want to avoid Apple's midi bluetooth, that is: two bluetooth devices, one on the piano (yours already has it) and another on the iPad, or as you do with synthesizers.

But while we're at it: my question is how the latency will feel with the iPad's bluetooth midi, as it is, without connecting the CME dongle, something you could experience by connecting your synthesizers directly to the iPad.
