Topic: Suggestion for the interface - Parameter value

Good morning,
This is just a suggestion for the interface:

Would it be relevant to display the current value of a parameter on mouseover in addition to the function of the parameter?
This would avoid having to click to find out the value.

It's a detail but in use, when we're trying to create our own sound, I think it would be useful and quick.

Re: Suggestion for the interface - Parameter value

You have quite an idea there; I mean about the current value might just display to the enduser on mouseover.

As a studio user indeed I see really a potential time saver.  If ever implemented, I'd probably enjoy it given best as just a selection under Options.  Sometimes my having to carefully listen to changes is very important though your suggestion could help a lot to speed things up other times, specifically, whenever for any reason I get into a rush.

Did I neglect to mention this latest version is striking in that people, including myself, appear simply awe struck by it; so much so that they don't really seem to know just what to make of it! (Smile.)

(Hopefully my remark is anything but condescending.)

Developers have outdone themselves!

Pianoteq 8 Studio Bundle, Pearl malletSTATION EM1, Roland (DRUM SOUND MODULE TD-30, HandSonic 10, AX-1), Akai EWI USB, Yamaha DIGITAL PIANO P-95, M-Audio STUDIOPHILE BX5, Focusrite Saffire PRO 24 DSP.

it is a good suggestion .
Moreover , it would be useful to a graduation under the sliders . For instance , if you take hammer hardness slight variations of the value influence the sound and the slider as is not very efficient and the best way to adjust is enter a value manually . I’d rather a separate window with much larger vertical sliders with fine graduation ( similar to DAW’s). As a Mac user ( it would work as well on windows) I would create separate desktops one for main interface and several desktops dedicated to parameters control.

I guess writing such an interface is not hard to code  creating a separate  interface with adequate sliders  using  cc controls , send midi fonction and pianoteq midi mapping control automation .

+1
Seems a good idea to me.
Other plugins implement the short description of a parameter under a popup that activates on mouseover but only when you click some sort "?" button which is usually on the top right corner, while they normally display values on mouseover.

You do realize if you indeed move sliders vertically instead of horizontally you get very slight variations shown on readouts.  And, when you hold down a shift key while you make the vertical movements on any slider you get even smaller variations to display, in a lot more minute incremental changes than when without the depress of the shift key?

yes I know and it’s a another way to adjust a value , but when do you that you actually not using the slider itself . My point was that if you want the slider to be relevant and useful it needs to be graduated and larger in overall dimension .

Wow, I agree completely. I am always needing to know the paraeter and expecting that the mouse over would show, but not...That must be implemented!
