Topic: Pianoteq 9 on iOS

Hi,

Pianoteq 9 is now available on the appstore ! https://apps.apple.com/app/pianoteq-9/id6736754495

We are still fixing some issues related to the v8->v9 upgrade process when purchased from the app, please give us a few hours. If you have purchased the 29€ v8->v9 upgrade in the "Pianoteq 9" iOS app, please do not purchase it again from our website !.

This is a different app from Pianoteq 8, so you'll need to download it separately from the App Store.

I hope the upgrade process is straightforward enough for those who already have a license for Pianoteq 8 (or older). You'll need to tap "Restore Purchases", then perform the free purchase to link the Pianoteq 9 app to your serial number.

After that, you can purchase the 29€ "Upgrade to 9", unless you bought Pianoteq 8 less than a year ago — in which case the upgrade is free and automatic.

"as of today" makes me think we have to wait until tomorrow at least or even more?

or is "very soon" = "at any moment"?

I have edited my post -- I can't say yet when , publishing on the AppStore requires going through a reviewing step by Apple, which can require a few iterations.

Hi, first post.
I was ready to buy IOS Stage v8 today after demoing it for a few weeks, trying to decide on my 2 instrument choices. Then I noticed V9 on the website this morning.
Should I wait until v9 arrives on the App Store or go ahead and buy v8. I don’t want to have to pay for an upgrade by not waiting for a few more days? The Admins first post seems to indicate no upgrade fee, but I want to be sure. Thanks, Jeff

you might aswell wait to avoid the upgrade process. But, if you simply cant wait, go for it. It will be like a day or 2 more at max. Thats my guess.

Yes, me too ...especially since the Windows version is for me not an option to play live due to the latency which my ipad doesn't have.

Is there no way of starting the approval before the release? There must be loads of companies who want to release something cross platform at the same time.

Modartt just released the 9.0.2 update and the release notes say:

According to this, recent average wait times are less than 24 hours.

They must have somehow. Or some concern/questions. Pianoteq 9 is pretty much identical to the pianoteq 8 app. Reviewers could not tell the difference maybe. Grasping at straws here.

Version 9 has not yet passed review. This does not mean that nothing is happening, there is an exchange going on, and we are doing the changes required by Apple guidelines. We are also not allowed to disclose the details of these exchanges.

So I can just tell that progress is happening, I see no major blocker ahead, and I believe we're just a few days from being able to release Pianoteq 9 on iOS.

Thanks for sharing what you can. Understood, unfortunately every now and then Apple does that to developers.

Thanks for the update! It’s nice to know there are no major blockers to seeing it released. It’s been a long wait, for us iOS users, for sure.

I'm in the UK, searching 'Pianoteq' or 'Pianoteq 9' doesn't find it. However, click on the Pianoteq 8 app to view the details and scrolling down to the bottom shows, 'More by Modartt' and there it is.... Pianoteq 9.

I downloaded it but when I put my s/n it force me to purchase an instrument. Otherwise it won't unlock. (I have  a remaining  free instrument because I upgraded from stage to standard, but I not want anything now.)

Woke up this morning and checked the app store first thing like I’ve been doing the past few weeks. Didnt expect to find anything and lo and behold, Pianoteq 9 was there! Never rushed out of bed so fast to connect my iPad to the piano!
