Topic: PT8.4.3 + Roland RD88EX + iPad Pro iOS 26.0 connection issues

Hello,

I'm having problems connecting my RD88EX to my iPad. I have no problems with my MacBook Air (MacOS 26.0). I have two different USB C hubs, but no avail; unfortunately I don't have a USB-C -> USB-A cable to try a direct connection, but I've had no problems connecting my iPad to other keyboards I work with using this setup. PT does not detect the RD88EX as a MIDI or and audio device.

Has anyone had similar issues?

I have the RD88 (not the EX) and same issue ,,,darn!  Works great with my Yamaha CK61 And Studio Logic 73 but I want the Roland to work!

Pianoteq 8, most pianos, Studiologic 73 Piano, Casio Px-560M, PX-S 3100, PX-S 3000, PX-S 1100, PX-S 7000, Mac i27 and MacBook Pro M3, SS Logic SSL 2, Roland RD 88, Kawai ES-520

I think I may have figured it out.

Set Menu / System / General / USB driver = GENERIC.

However, when plugging into a Mac, you'll need to set it to VENDOR. Assuming you have all the drivers and stuff installed.

Inconvenient, but workable.

Edit: Hm, still can't detect the RD88 as an audio interface from my iPad, but at least I can get MIDI....

The RD88 does not have a class compliant usb audio interface. This was one of the reasons choose a Yamaha MX88 in stead of the RD88. A poor design decision if you ask me...
