Topic: De Lachende Dwerg (Pianoteq)

here's another composition by Misha Mengelberg.  the tune has a second title in English "Crocodile Tear," but that's not a literal translation of the Dutch title (The Laughing Dwarf) and as far as i can tell it's not a Dutch idiom of crocodile tears.  kind of a mystery.  anyway, it's still a lot of fun to play!

Great work, Budo. I really like this piece, which is very dynamic and full of improvisations, just like your style.

Dear budo, always beautiful playing, especially this one. And you surprised me again with the ending!

I experienced 4.43 as the beginning of the ending chord and then came ritardando + diminuendo and then 5.00 nothing!!! I was expecting a ”button” but no, nice ending surprise anyway

Nice jump at 1,48 in the middle of the impro and then 2,43 - 2,50  10  jumps. Bravo!

While there are many ways to weave emotion into music,
your improvisation here put me in a good mood, thank you budo.

Best wishes,

Stig

thank you Stig, i really appreciate it.  i went and listened again and indeed there were some jumps in there so it must really not be anything to do with a crocodile.  i'm glad that it put you in a good mood!
