I don't know exactly how to explain this issue I'm having, but a program that I have created has a prolonged amount of what I would say is ringing harmonics in the upper register after I play notes or chords. I don't have a clue as to what function I should attempt to be editing to reduce this issue. I am not using any FX in this program. Suggestions or advice is greatly appreciated?!
Your settings show us and the way of the piano we will teach you, young Padawan!
D'oh!
That would be needed yes?
I'm on a Macbook Air M1 and have the Standard product v8.4.3. and am using Gig Performer v4.x. I was working with a producer in his studio to create a Program that would be used for live performances, with the goal of providing the FOH with the best piano sound possible, while also give me a satisfying signal from the FOH for my IEMs. After going back and forth between the Steinway B, Yamaha YC5 and the Kawai Grand Shigeru, we decided that the Kawai SK-EX Player would sound the best in what we were going to accomplish. All FX in Pianoteq were disabled in favor of utilizing plugins from the Arturia FX Collection. The outputs of Pianoteq are routed into 3 plugins - the Arturia EQ SITRAL-295 equalizer with the outputs going into the Arturia Comp DIODE-609 Compressor/Limiter and then with the outputs going into the Arturia Rev LX-24 reverb plug. The program we created sounds really, really good; through my IEMs as well as to what I heard in a live recording of a performance this past Sunday.
Now back to the Kawai Shigeru Player - the only issue I'm having with this program is as I mentioned earlier, is the excessive, what I would describe as lingering or ringing of the notes from G5 up, even with the Arturia reverb plugin bypassed. Other than the disabling of the FX,no other editing was done to the piano program itself. That being said, I really don't know what do edit once I get under its hood, hence the totally vapid cry of help from my initial post. Because the majority of Pianoteq's instruments I have, including the electric pianos and mallet instrument packs, I have have very little need to to serious editing other that some earlier FX stuff which was then halted due to my huge list of available Arturia plugins. I. would greatly appreciate any advice and/or suggestions on how to dampen the higher notes of this really nice instrument. Thx!
