Topic: Pause MIDI and keys visibility

Hi!

I want to be able to able to see the keys being pressed while playing a MIDI even if I press pause - Is that possible?

My goal is to play/pause to follow up the notes being played to learn at my own pace.

Thanks!

Re: Pause MIDI and keys visibility

I don’t think this is possible as it doesn’t make much sense anyway (playing without playing).
You probably just need to slow down the tempo while playing the midi.

Best.

Re: Pause MIDI and keys visibility

I think there are training apps that will do what you want. What you can do with Pianoteq after loading a midi file is [short] click on >> and it will play the next note group and display the chord name and keys to press on Pianoteq's keyboard. Click again for the next note group.

Maybe Synthesia   ( https://synthesiagame.com) is what you are looking for. It is not free but not expensive either .

You can edit shorcuts in pianoteq and assign two keys of your keyboard to "single step MIDI forward" and "single step MIDI backward".
Very simple and very efficient. You can read the midi file step by step...
