Topic: PianoTeq8 CPU over 20%

Hello all, I am not to computer savvy.  But I have been trying gig performer and when I use any Piano like The Grandeur for Native Instruments my CPU is around 3%.  I really love to use Pianoteq because it is so much better quality.  But When I use it the CPU jumps up to 20-23%.  Is there something I can do to lower this.  I did notice if I lower the internal sample rate at its lowest setting to 11025, the cpu drops down to 7% but I don't know what this does to quality to the patch or to the computer.

Again I’m not that computer savvy so I hope you can understand what I’m saying.

Thank you all again for all the help

No not at all. I started gig performer and a couple of the videos I watch all said that Pianoteq is not CPU heavy.  So Im thinking I might be doing something wrong.  I think in gig performer I can just bypass it when I don't use for any solos.  Then just use like the grandeur when I need to play something in the background.  If it's not going to cause any issues then Iknow no problem. I just want to make sure a

Thank you for your help.  Someone actually figured it out on the gig performer community page.  My buffer size was 512, I lowered it to 256 and it went all the way down to 3%
