Here's a fun experiment...

Using the NY Steinway D Pop as a basis

I modified it as follows (Effects, Microphones, Spectrum Profile, Condition)

Here's the original piano with singer

Adding 'bite' to the piano seems to compliment the added 'bite' of the Vocaloid singer (Hibiki-Koto)?

Re: Getting the right piano sound for vocal accompaniment

it definitely seems to help with the mix.  interesting experiment!

Glad you like the piano sound - the Steinways are very versatile as indeed are all the current model offerings from PianoTeq!

Keep enjoying your music

Nice experiment! I really like the piano voice you arrived at with your experiment, it blends well in my opinion with the singer's voice.
Greetings

I though you might like this one as the singer has a quasi 'bel canto' tone! It's amazing what software emulations of pianos, guitars, orchestral instruments and now vocals can do!

Thanks for stopping by and commenting!

Also forgotten...

The Model D New Age (with very much reduced reverb)

I've modified it much the same as before... blah, blah, blah - I do particularly like the Spectrum Profile as a quick way to completely alter a piano!

Re: Getting the right piano sound for vocal accompaniment

Finally ...

There's probably enough of these now ???

The NY Steinway D Classical... (modified in the usual way - Spectrum Profile, Impedance, Effects and Microphones)

For those interested in expanding your digital collection into vocals, the above is a comparison between Synthesizer V version 1 (2 about to come out) and Vocaloid 6.5 and for those that don't care - have a great day !

Yes the Jazz preset again - but a little different - I put it further back in the mix...
