Topic: New Video Bach Prelude n 8 in E-Flat Minor BWV 853 from WTC I

Dear Friend,

This prelude is another small step in the long journey I have planned to travel: to record all of WTC I.
I hope you like it !

It was found possible to describe the character of the Eb- minor prelude and of its great fugue as strength combined with seriousness and dignity — and thus answering to the general character of the key of Eb (though the second fugue shows that it can also present a more friendly aspect), but here the agreement between the general character of the key and the contents of the Bach idea is far more imposing. The prelude, with deep, dignified
solemnity, advances in 3/2 measure; the longdrawn lines of the melody display great and noble feeling: now clear eyes full of love seem to be gazing at us, now deep sighs are heard, sighs of pain at the limited power of human beings who are able to realize only a small portion of unlimited will.

Dear  Pianoteq Friends !I wish you and your family a Fantastic Christmass !

Well done on your continued journey!

This particular recording seems to have the sustain pedal noise too high and every time you put it down there's an audible 'thud' that mars an otherwise modern and tender interpretation.

Keep going!

Sweet playing, Carmelo ! Yes, the pedal noise spoils the piece. Such a pity, but it can be fixed.

Bach is the master

Beautiful playing!

Regarding the pedal noise, it is a bit disconcerting here, but it's so easy to decrease it in Pianoteq: Action --> Pedal Noise

Thank you very much DEZ for your observation regarding the parasitic noise of the sustain pedal. I hadn't really noticed, thanks so much for pointing it out, I'll pay more attention to it.
Regarding my journey into Bach's music... It's really beautiful: by studying many pieces that I had never seen before you really understand the greatness of the Eisenach master... I hope to be able to finish WTC I, it's not easy but I'll do it step by step ....

Thank you very much Borealis for your comment! You're right, thanks to DEZ I was able to hear it, I hadn't really noticed damn... I have to be more careful in the next recordings, in this one the lower than average volume has undoubtedly helped to notice this defect....

Thank you so much Stephen, for your advice... I finally manage to lower the noise of the sustain pedal... Damn I didn't notice it before... Thanks anyway and I hope you like my videos.
