Topic: New Computer - CPU "Overloads" at ~25%...

I get an overload error in pianoteq with my Ryzen 7 5800H.

It's a laptop, I think I've checked all the applicable power settings, and yet it seems to overload far faster than my Ryzen 3 3200g... which is strange because:

I'd imagine I'm missing some sort of setting configuration that is screwing with this. Using ASIO4ALL driver, version downloaded within the last month. The most I seem to be able to get my CPU usage up to is 25%, but it's usually stopping at 15% in task manager. The raw single core speed is also much faster with this CPU, so it's even more unusual. Overall CPU usage while idling is 5-6%. Some programs are open, but not so many that it should make that sort of impact.

Might be ASIO, actually - seems to not go so high if I just use normal windows audio, but not sure what setting to tweak to allow ASIO to use the full CPU.

Are you perhaps expecting too low latency for the system as a whole?

Are you already using exclusive mode?
If not enable that.

Have a look to see if you can use WASAPI exclusive mode instead of ASIO4all.

Try both increasing and decreasing your buffer size. Small increments until the problem goes away.
