Topic: true MIDI mono mode as opposed to poly mode
This may seem like an odd request, but not from a guitarist's perspective. I use hardware (Fishman Tripleplay) to translate my guitar to MIDI and for best performance, it outputs each string on a separate MIDI channel. The best "tracking" is achieved by having each string playing a different iteration of a VSTi instrument (I prefer all the same instrument) by assigning each to receive on a different MIDI channel (1-6). But in addition, each VSTi should be in MONO mode to avoid false "triggers" - you don't want more than one note to be triggered by a single string.
To cut to the chase...
Is there a way to create a true MONO mode in Pianoteq? I would think that dropping the polyphony to "1" would do it, but that's not the case. I believe that has more to do with sympathetic resonance... actually I'm sure it does.
So hopefully I'm overlooking something, but if not... I sure wish it could be implemented in an update, just a setting in the MIDI Options or Performance Options. What ya think, masters of piano modeling ?
PS: I do tickle the ivories (plastic) and have been a Pianoteq Pro devotee since way way back... but guitar IS my principle instrument.
