Topic: Old Folks

Hi,

I'm playing here just the head of Old Folks,
trying to be intentional and use some ad-hoc counterpoint.
Enjoy and have a peaceful weekend

very very nice.  great choices in the counterpoint.  i love this tune and this was indeed a very peaceful version.  would like to hear more!

there is a great performance of this tune by Mulgrew Miller on youtube at a workshop in Tel Aviv that i've always found inspiring.  perhaps you would enjoy

Thanks Budo!
Much appreciate your feedback.
I really liked your playing on Invitation - I feel the "risk taking" of playing such intense passages and getting out of them safely, and really nice two-hand rhythmic interplay.

I love Mulgrew Miller. Just reminded me of a cover of "Blackbird" (Beatles) he participated in on a Tony Williams album.

Re: Old Folks

thank you for your comments about Invitation, and thanks for pointing out the recording.  i hadn't heard it before.  it's a lot of fun, and MM's solo sounds great.  he was such a great player ... sorely missed.
