Topic: Sustain pedal calibration problem

I have a Kawai ES 520 and running Standard on a macbook pro. I've tried calibrating a number of times and every time when I'm done there is no sustain pedal.  I had the same problem with Stage. Any thoughts?

Re: Sustain pedal calibration problem

I'm not sure what you mean by 'no sustain pedal' - do you mean it's not working as expected? Unfortunately the keyboard calibration wizard is far from perfect, but if you're reasonably happy with your keyboard response it should be easy enough to fix the pedal. Click on one of the arrows on the Velocity Curve window until you see 'Pedal', then paste the whole of the following line:

Sustain Velocity = [0, 25, 95, 127; 0, 0, 127, 127]

(this is the standard sustain pedal curve)
If it works OK, save the result as 'ES 520' or however you want to name it. If it doesn't work, try switching the damper mode: it can be Normal or Reversed.
I hope this helps!

Thanks. Yes, after the calibration is done there is no sustain pedal...at all.  I'll put in those numbers.
