Topic: Pianoteq 7 Standard - Sale

Hello everyone.

Selling my Pianoteq 7 Standard. (Reason is: buying acoustic piano, no longer need it in my Roland).

Instruments I bought that are included:
- Bluthner
- Steinway B Pack
- Grotrian

I bought it for 250 EUR.

Selling for 220 EUR. I will pay transfer fee.

PM me if you want to make an offer
Paypal probably the easiest for me.

Phwoar 30 whole euros off!?

Methinks you're going to have to give prospective buyers more incentive than that. I don't think that they can sell the licence on again.

It's 30 euros less than buying directly. This is not a product that gets wear and tear. It's the exact same thing but for less.

If you are interested make an offer if you are not then don't come and try to devalue something just because.

You are correct that Key Fumbler has been rude in his post. He also overlooked you covering the cost of Paypal and transfer fee.
However take in mind that for the buyer it's not the same thing. Yes there is no wear and tear but consider these reasons which are in my mind as a potential buyer:

1) should I later decide to resell the license I can't
2) when purchasing new, I can select the instruments of my choice, used, I am stuck with your pick. Sure, somebody might want exactly what you picked, but given the combinatorial possibilities, it's pretty unlikely even considering that you took fairly popular ones
3) when purchasing new, there are 12 months of free updates should a new version come out (which happens fairly often) -- used, how many months are left?
4) if one is willing to wait, Standard is often sold at 20% off.

These are the reasons why I am not making you an offer:
a) I actually would like to buy a Stage version with Steinway D and Bluthner, so with yours I'd need to get the D separately (issue n. 2)
b) I'd spring for a bit more and get the Standard. But not too much more, only if I get a good deal (issue that KF raised)
c) I am not too much concerned about 1, but I am definitely about 3
d) I am willing to wait (issue n. 4)

Of course every buyer is different and somebody may be happy to take the more-than-10% off you are offering, so I would not have posted anything if it weren't for this quarrel...

Where do I find a list of all posts I upvoted? :(

Re: Pianoteq 7 Standard - Sale

Value is relative. I don't need people to explain why it is worth it for them to buy or not.

For some people like you said would be happy with my instrument choice for others will have to consider a bunch of factors like they went to have a fancy dinner last night hence now they can't spend that much.

That being said I did not say it in my original post that would be upset if someone makes an offer or tries to negotiate in that offer.

Apart from that what you said about the updates is true I should have clarified.

I bought Stage on the  22 September 2021 and upgraded to Standard on the 22 January 2022

Edit: the updates are always free and are indeed frequent (7 to 7.5 for instance) The upgrades have the 12 month period. (From 7 to 8) not frequent at all. Check when pianoteq 6 was released - 2017.

So it's not like the 12 month matters much.

I'm not trying to devalue it. I'm giving you and your prospective customer a head's up. It's a straight saving many people would likely be happy to make in the knowledge that they never sell on their plugin licenses, if say they were totally happy with the demo.

I don't think it's rude in the slightest to warn both seller and potential customer the pitfalls. The customer may be 100% happy in the knowledge that they cannot resell - and the vast majority do not resell the product. Forewarned is forearmed. On the contrary it's potentially rude not to warn people - if you know the current rules.  Giving the benefit of the doubt Alex probably did not know of this himself.

Re: Pianoteq 7 Standard - Sale

I actually did know and I still consider my price fair. I appreciate your help on the warning but the "whoa only 30 euros" is only favoring the buyer by your subjective opinion that my tagged price was too high.

I've sold many items in the second hand market. I post a price, people make offers some I reject some I accept, simple.

If someone would like it for less they (like I said) are free to make an offer / negotiate and make their own judgement on what they think is a fair value.

Best

Alex

Caveat emptor.
Whatever price you get good luck with your sale, I hope you and your customer are happy.

Bump.

Re: Pianoteq 7 Standard - Sale

So everyone knows I can go down to 200 EUR. But that's the limit so not open to negotiating it down any further.

Thanks for the bump!

Re: Pianoteq 7 Standard - Sale

200 USD acceptable?

200 USD is a totally different from 200 EUR. Thank you but I just said on my last post I'm not open to further negotiation.

Re: Pianoteq 7 Standard - Sale

Bumping it.

For Sale 200 EUR.

Re: Pianoteq 7 Standard - Sale

Hello, Alex,

Would you be willing to sell your license for 180 Eur? If so, and if you can explain to me how the transfer takes place, so that I know it will be fully honored by Modaett (and that I'd be eligible for future updates, etc.), I would like to purchase it. I can pay by PayPal.

Thank you for your consideration.

Readers,  I bought it!  The whole process went so smoothly, and Alex was a pleasure to work with.  I saved quite a bit of money and got exactly what I wanted.  I thought that the reduced price was completely fair, because Alex paid the transfer fee.  I've always believed that a deal has to be good for both parties to be a good deal. So excited to have this incredible resource!

You'll probably never buy a finer plugin.
