Topic: Yamaha P-125 and Pianoteq voices

Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum.
I have just bought a Yamaha P-125 and am quite satisfied (although I still doubt that perhaps a Roland FP-30X would have been better).

However, I am not completely satisfied with the four voices of the piano (just the first variant seems to me more suited to a piano).

I wanted to connect the P-125 to "Pianoteq" via USB cable to play it hearing the VST voices set by the software through the speakers of the keyboard.

Unfortunately the software connects well but while the keys of the virtual keyboard play the beautiful voices of the various pianos through the Yamaha speakers, the keys of the physical keyboard continue to play their own internal voices through the speakers themselves.
I naturally tried to set various parameters both on Pianoteq and on the keyboard following the instructions in the manual, etc.

Thank You for Your kind attention, I really hope to be able to play Pianoteq's voices through the keyboard and its speakers.
Now I'm trying it but if it could work I would buy it with my eyes closed!

Best Regards to All !

I think you want to turn "Local Control" off on the P-125.  Default is on.   Hold the [METRONOME] and [RHYTHM] buttons while pressing note C5 to toggle it on and off.

Here's what manual says regarding "Local Control":
=================
“Local Control” refers to the fact that, normally, the keyboard of the instrument controls its internal tone generator, allowing the inter-
nal voices to be played directly from the keyboard. This situation is “Local Control On,” since the internal tone generator is controlled
locally by its own keyboard. Local control can be turned OFF, however, so that the keyboard of the instrument does not play the inter-
nal voices, but the appropriate MIDI information is still transmitted via the [USB TO HOST] terminal when notes are played on the
keyboard. At the same time, the internal tone generator responds to MIDI information received via the [USB TO HOST] terminal.
Default setting: ONWhile simultaneously holding down the [METRONOME] and [RHYTHM] buttons, press the C5
key. Pressing the C5 key repeatedly toggles between Local Control On and Off.

Re: Yamaha P-125 and Pianoteq voices

Thank You for the quick reply !

I tried to set these parameters but it didn't work for me.
But I keep trying!

Do I have to set any particular options in the Pianoteq software?

Thank You.

Re: Yamaha P-125 and Pianoteq voices

It worked, Thanks !

But exactly with the keyboard already on, I removed the Local Control (put it to OFF and I noticed that the keyboard no longer sounded) and then I started Pianoteq and then the keys of the physical keyboard played the VST that I choose from the various types of pianos.
All voices wonderful !

I also noticed that both the volume of the physical keyboard and the Pianoteq decibel slider could be adjusted and that the virtual keyboard key when pressed corresponded to the maximum pressure force of the physical key, which at first made me think that the keyboard didn't sound the same.

I buy Pianoteq now !!!

If I still have other questions to ask I hope not to disturb if I have other problems.

Thanks again !
Best Regards
