Topic: Pianoteq pricing

I am considering investing in Pianoteq, but the pricing confuses me.
Pianoteq Stage version costs £129 and you get 2 library bundles. For just under £50 you can buy a third library bundle.
The standard version which comes with three bundles costs £249.  So that is £70 more for no apparent reason.
Obviously I am misunderstanding something, but what?

The difference between the three versions are not only the number of instruments packs.

Re: Pianoteq pricing

Regular users on here are all enthusiasts, Hence most will recommend going straight to Standard or Pro. Don't let that put you off dipping your toes if say you are only beginning, or just  want  some nice sounds.

There are simple and more complex ways to modify the sounds in Pianoteq. Someone who just wants a little bit of sound adjustability and plenty of instruments will be happy with Stage.

However if you are fairly comfortable with using computer software (for instance already make music in a DAW), you like the idea of being able to heavily modify your sounds, combine instruments to play together, move virtual microphone positions, and change microphone types, and the number of them.
Lift the lid, blend instrument models together, load other users free presets from the forum and so on you will eventually end up with Standard or even Pro.

Plenty of folks will be more than happy with Stage, however Standard recently became a substantial upgrade over Stage with the edition of Morphing.
That basically allows you to quickly and easily blend the various physical  models to make new original instruments without having to understand pretty much anything!

Re: Pianoteq pricing

+1 to everything that Key Fumbler says. Also, if you're interested in alternative tunings (beyond Equal Temperament), Standard is a must!

Re: Pianoteq pricing

thank you everyone. Now I understand. Looks like the Standard version is the one for me.

Re: Pianoteq pricing

I my case, I got standard and upgraded to pro, but by now I only use the default presets. If I had to choose again, I would go for stage.

Yeah, you wouldn’t want to miss out on morphing and layering.

Isn't this year 15th Modarrt or Pianoteq anniversary?
Does anyone know whether there will be special offers or new releases?
Considering the amazing IK Multimedia anniversary deals this year, I am pretty surprised to see no Pianoteq deals or releases, but this year still has 2 and a half months...
