Bartok Mikrokosmos,Vol.V No.127 New Hungarian Folksong
Nouvelle chanson populaire hongroise
I sang this song in Swedish with my pupils in the 70s. Had forgotten Mikrokosmosbook, found it some day ago
Mikrokosmos consists of 153 progressive piano pieces in six volumes written between 1926 and 1939. Volumes one and two are dedicated to his son Péter, while volumes five and six are intended as professionally performable concert pieces. Bartók also indicated that these pieces could also be played on other instruments. (Wikipedia)…
…..so,he said different instruments…I’m thinking….
I am experimenting here with several, 5, different instruments, piano + organ, piano + piano, organ + organ, electra spacey + kalimba spacey, clavichord + clavichord. Recorded with headphones.
I wonder what Bartok would have said about these 5 instrument combinations?
Best,
Stig
P.S. I like Blanchet clavichord version best (and Huguette Dreyfus for example, has recorded pieces from Books 3 through 6 on the harpsichord.)
