Organteq - Wedding March, Sweden, traditional

A wedding march from Leksand, Sweden. This Swedish folktune became a hit in the '70s as played by the folk rock group ”Kebnekaise”, as far as I know still exist (I attach a link after my own version with Organteq). I think I got a bit too interested when listened to Kebnekaise, made my own version……

In the peasant society, the fiddler was seldom allowed to play in the church. The bridal marches were therefore mostly used when the wedding party marched to the church, and from the church to the courtyard, where the wedding party was held. Then the music was performed by the fiddlers.

Thank you very much, Stig, for the discovery !

Great track. The kind of piece that gives you the "strength" and you save into your mind and heart.
It could appear in a Wobbler or Anglagard album. Listened to the quartet version too. Something celtic.

I choose Wobbler     Listened to ”From Silence To Somewhere”, and several parts were a bit like my playing in the second part of my Wedding march.
Thanks Will, I didn’t know this Norway band

I was enjoying this and then the drums started just when I was expecting a change of registration... must be my age !

Well, I got inspired by Kebnekaise (above) and wanted to try some "new"....  We all react different to the same music and I think it's good that music can affect us in some way. Thank you for commenting and listening to my music. I think you can find much Classic music with Organteq on my YouTube channel.

Sorry about that - got startled by the sudden loud drums.

Excellent Bridal March.  Mendelsohn has become so passe here in the Anglo-West.  :-)

As for the Rock, I'll leave it in the 70's and let them fight it out with Deep Purple, or maybe with Yes ("I woke this morning...Love laid me down by the river.  Drifting upstream I turned to my forgiver...").
