Topic: Licensing question

Hello!
I have purchased an educational license of Pianoteq. Recently, I have recorded some (educational) piano pieces by Theodore Oesten. The score of these pieces is "public domain", since Oesten died much-much time ago. I am thinking of uploading the audio file of my recording to the imslp.org site, under the GPL license. Are there any licensing (legal) issues? Thanks.
Vangelis.

Re: Licensing question

As the music is well within Public Domain worldwide and you are making your own recording, there are no licensing issues to worry about. Your recording should be welcomed by imslp, as I notice there is currently nothing by Oesten in the 'recordings' category. Will you post a link when you have uploaded it?

Re: Licensing question

Thank you for responding!
I have already uploaded this recording to YouTube. YouTube asked me nothing about licensing. I hope my upload there is legal. If there is any problem, please inform me. Here is the link of the recording:

When I upload the same recording to imslp, I'll sent you the link.

Re: Licensing question

Well, I can't see that there would be any problems with that, you're clearly not infringing any copyright.

Re: Licensing question

I have uploaded my recording to imslp. At the moment, the recording is under copyright review and cannot be downloaded. Most likely, the recording is going to be available there in a couple of days. The link for Oesten's Golden Drops, Op.94 is here:

So, please check this link in a few days.
