Topic: Plucked string?

Hello,

Has anyone had success creating a "plucked string" preset?

I'm referring to the sound you get on an acoustic piano if you hold the pedal down and pluck a string with your fingernail.

I've experimented with both the piano and harpsichord settings, trying to combine them, but I haven't found something that sounds like the effect above.

Just wondering if anyone has done this, or has ideas -- would love to hear them!

Re: Plucked string?

I once suggested a option to allow us to hammer the strings of harpsichords, and to pluck the strings of a piano.

But I'm afraid (despite not sure) that they would have to take data, recordings, from thr harpsichords models being hammered and data from the piano models being plucked, in order to be able to create that for such instruments.

Did you try morphing with the Harp?

Re: Plucked string?

Nice idea with the harp, but too mellow compared to a piano string pluck.  The closest I've gotten is to morph harpsichord with piano.

Re: Plucked string?

Here is a suggestion of a layer using a virginal for plucking. Going down it sounds more like plucked with a plectrum though.
