Topic: Reason for minimum requirements for sepcific instruments - quality?

I wonder why there are different minimum requirements/minimum version of pianoteq for different instruments. Could this be a sign for different levels of quality in modelling this instrument?

Example:
The YC5 requires 3.0.5 - the Bechstein, wich is regarded als very realistic, demands at least version 6.4. Both have the same price.

Why this differences? I presume that in newer versions of pianoteq new paramenters are modelled, wich should lead to more a realistic and complex sound.

So - could a high minimum requirement regarded as measurement of quality?
Whats your option?

Thank You. So - if I understand right, the older the instrument - the more modartt has to work at a modell, when it gets older and older. You have to keep up maintaining more and more legacy versions of those instruments...

What I do not know is of course the technics behind pinaoteq. I do not know, if an older instrument is beeing updated, wether it is necessary to implement newer aspects of the pinoteq software or not.

The reason for my question ist simple:
Is there a reason to decide on newer instruments because they are more advanced or not. And this question ist not beeing answered.

Yes, old instruments are always getting reworked, especially in new major versions.  The requirements tell you when the first version of Pianoteq has an instrument but not when the latest iteration of the instrument has been modified in Pianoteq.  Because of the amount that changes between major versions like 6.x to 7.x, those changes are rarely listed specifically but any time a major change is added to the "engine" of Pianoteq all or most instruments will be reworked to utilize it.  In this case, nearly everything has been changed to a greater or lesser extent (because of the new soundboard modelling and the ability to layer/morph instruments meant needing to tweak tons of other parameters in each preset and instrument pack).  There are also lots of minor changes to voicing and other parameters of presets that can be made in the x.x.x version changes, but those are usually listed in the patch notes.
