Topic: My Schubert Improv

This video is my first all-Pianoteq recording and the piano heard in it is the1922 Erard (modified), my favorite of all the Pianoteq instruments. The recording was made within the Pianoteq interface with no added effects from other apps. Hope you enjoy!

Hello algorhythms! Nice to have you back again. I remember so well your kindness, comments  and interest in music, especially with Erard (I like it too). I hope you and your family and friends are doing well in these troubled times.

Interesting this improvisation. I like it. Very gently, slow and  p  in beginning (like dream). And then the forte from 1,57 -  2,30 (very nice). The best nice part is from 3,20 to the end. I think this sounds very personal, it is an expression of your own creative voice. Keep it up
BTW, I have all my Ptq music in a growing thread called ”My pianoteq music in one place” and Organteq music in ”My Organteq music in one place”. Scroll down a bit on the side if interested.
My warmest wishes to you and your family and friends.

Hi Pianoteqenthusiast!

So wonderful to hear from you and thank you for your warm and kind words. They mean the world to me and I do indeed remember our conversations earlier with much fondness and kindness on your part as well.

I like that you felt the first verse seemed like a dream. That fits my view as well. This opening verse I also see as the boatman addressing the Dioscuri in solemn prayer asking respectfully for their help and guidance for a safe passage home. In the second verse as the Dioscuri give the boatman strength and confidence and the boatman feeling doubly blessed I wanted the music to reflect that, hence going from forte at the beginning to piano at the end of it. For the third verse as the boatman's prayers have been heard and answered, the Dioscuri, having been so moved by the boatman's sincerity and beauty of his song, they join in singing with him in harmony. I find this image very personal and imagine the ones I love, who are in the sky with the Dioscuri now, are guiding me in my life journey.

I think I found your mp3 files in the Other Files forum. Are those the ones? I will listen to them!

My warmest wishes to you and your family always.

Robert

Robert, my ”My pianoteq music in one place” and ”My Organteq music in one place” are in this same forum ”Recordings featuring Pianoteq and Organteq” where you have posted your Schubert improv (although you can find my music here and there in Other files (Shared files) forum, too. But it is much easier to find them when all in same growing place, gathered one after the other Hope you find them.

Kind regards,

Stig
