Topic: About the "Prelude" presets.

I have long preferred the settings created by me and, in particular, I really like the Steinway Player Wide, as I mentioned in another topic. However, lately I have noticed the sound quality and excellent playability of the "Prelude" presets, not only for Steinway D, but for all other instruments (K2, Bluethner, Grotrian, Steingraeber, Pretrof, Bechstein and Steinway B).

Is that why "Prelude" is always the first preset on the list?

I wonder if you also admire, like and use this template a lot on your instruments or reject it?

The Prelude presets are my favorite except for the Bluthner (I prefer the Model 1 BA).
The Prelude presets sound also very good with headphones.

Re: About the "Prelude" presets.

I am curious what does "Prelude" setting do exactly? What is common across different instruments' Prelude settings?

Thanks,
Osho

I share the same curiosity, my friend Oshogg.

But, I can deduce that, because it is an introductory preset common to all instruments, it would be a kind of "suggestion" that would please most users right from the first encounter with Pianoteq, like a business card.

Although I also believe that the "Player" presets are the most suitable for home use, the "Prelude" preset is also a Player perspective, but with added enhancements.

My intention is that, in conventional digital pianos, the first preset is always the best, so what do we think of Prelude being the first in all instruments for Pianoteq?
