Topic: Pianoteq hangs after my Mac has waked up from sleep

I have recently been experiencing the following issue: when I wake up my Mac Pro (by opening the lid), I sometimes find Pianoteq unresponsive, with the colored busy indicator showing up, and I have to force-quit the process with the Activity Monitor. A month ago I remember not having had any issue with waking up my Pianoteq process.

What has changed since then? My two guesses:
- I have upgraded Pianoteq from 6.6 to 6.7
- I have upgraded my O.S. to Catalina 10.15.3

Has anybody else had the same problem?

I wanted to try to roll back to Pianoteq 6.6 to at least exclude one option but I can't find any way to download the .dmg from the Modartt site.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Re: Pianoteq hangs after my Mac has waked up from sleep

Just tried Pianoteq 6.7.0 with my 2019 MacBook Air under Mojave (10.14.6) and there is no problem after sleep. Another Catalina bug I suppose. (I'm not updating)

Excellent, thank you so much Viridis!

I will give it a try, and will report the outcome on this thread.

It does not occur consistently... in many cases it works, but from times to times (let's say twice a week) it hangs. I will check the 6.6.0 version for a week at least, and will let you know.

Re: Pianoteq hangs after my Mac has waked up from sleep

Just to report that:
- I've downgraded to Pianoteq 6.6 and have been using it for 10 days without any freeze
- I've upgraded again to Pianoteq 6.7 two days ago and Pianoteq has frozen after wake up at least three times

In the meantime my system was stable to macOS Catalina 10.15.3.

I do think my issue is due to version 6.7 of PTQ and will contact support to report the problem.

Hi Phil,

I also use PTQ 6.7.0 on a mac book pro (early 2015) with Catalina 10.15.4.
I have not noticed any freeze.
