Topic: Passamezzo - Another from Samuel Scheidt
An Italian folk dance of the 16th and early 17th centuries. It might take the form of a simple song or dance in quicker tempo, similar to the Pavane but is in faster tempo. What exactly is a faster tempo? In my opinion I play maybe a much faster tempo than people are used to, but it works and I like it.
After ”meeting” Samuel Scheidt I found composers like J.Fr. Dandrieu (a French Baroque composer, harpsichordist and organist), J K F Fischer ( German Baroque composer), J G Walther (German), G B Fasolo, F Couperin (French composer) L Marchand (also french composer).
Now I can’t resist to check out their music, suitable for organ. It will probably take a long time:) (And, then there was the Hallelujah, Handel!)
Well, as everyone probably already knows - I like to put together the geniuses of baroque and Organteq!
