Topic: Easter music - Organteq

Music with Organteq doesn’t have to be complicated
Samuel Scheidt (1587-1654) was a German composer, organist and teacher of early Baroque era. He composed this ”Da Jesus an dem Kreuze stund”.
There are many great classical pieces as Easter music (Bach’s Passion music, Handel’s Messiah, Mahler’s Symphony No 2 Resurrection, Allegri’s Miserere etc. etc.
This is a very small simple music piece by Samuel Scheidt, but as the name says,, it suits fine during Easter too.
Someone asked my registration style. Although a little piece, I’m using eight stops to create the sound I like. To get the suffering feeling in upper melody.
Here it is for this piece.

Upper voice registration: Recit: Bourdon 8, Gamba 8, Voix Celeste 8
                                        Positif: Gamba 8
Lower voice registration: Recit: Voix celeste 8
                                        Grand Orgue: Flute 8, Quinte 2’2/3
                                        Positif: Flute Traversiere
Coupler Pos/G.O. and Rec./G.O.
No pedale this time.

The music doesn't always have to be so complicated. I like so much to listen to Organteq with simple pieces so I can try to distinguish the sounds/all those paticular and quieter frequencies, that give a note/stop a different audible identity. Every stop has a different charater…sigh, I  can’t explain, but I enjoy this piece with headphones, it’s like being inside Organteq!

Btw, I wonder if it would help people if I added my registrations, in connection with every piece, in my topic ”My organteq music in one place” ? Or it is an unnecessary addition?
Thank you for listening to my music:)

Very soothing music, doesn't need to be complicated indeed. I envy your facility to read and learn new music so fast...

I'm not very good at it, but I'm using the new two keyboards facility of Organteq to revisit Bach's simple two part inventions, one part per keyboard. Different sounds of course.

Yes please add your registrations, I find them very interesting. Another way would be to publish the fxp in the FXP Corner.

Organteq excellence yet again! Music of this period is one of my passions, and I'm a great fan of Samuel Scheidt. Thank you!

Re: Easter music - Organteq

I have a suspicion somebody’s going to attempt a Handel’s Messiah.

It is perhaps one of my favorites of all time!

Pianoteq 8 Studio Bundle, Pearl malletSTATION EM1, Roland (DRUM SOUND MODULE TD-30, HandSonic 10, AX-1), Akai EWI USB, Yamaha DIGITAL PIANO P-95, M-Audio STUDIOPHILE BX5, Focusrite Saffire PRO 24 DSP.

@Gilles
Thank you for your kindness and nice comment. And you know, I don’t learn so fast. I really have to work very hard, late nights often 23-02.00, and every spare time every day

@dazric
Thank you. And nice to read that you know Samuel

Well, I wanted to give it a try, but our city library is closed because of the corona virus, and I have to be in quarantine at home because of my age (over 70 in our country).  Can’t get the notebook. But, as soon as possible I try to play it. You know, it is my favorite of Handel’s music too. Better late than never
Thank you, Amen, for listening to my music and for your interesting comment.

Plenty of public domain editions of Messiah here: https://imslp.org/wiki/Messiah%2C_HWV_5..._Frideric) (scroll down for the sheet music).

Thank you dazric, for your kindness. You are so friendly, generous and considerate, thinking of other people. So far I have not found a transcription especially for organ only. Maybe I’m bad at searching, but I continue…:) I found something, but it’s not really what I want……but, thank you so much for the link:)
I have been listening to Hallelujah Chorus both for choir and to different organ transcriptions on yt, and have to say, that to me personally it’s the greatest piece of music ever.
They say that Handel was crying when he wrote the piece, when the assistants found him severely visually impaired, the sheet was wet with tears, and he seemed to have seen the heavens open.
Stay tuned !

Re: Easter music - Organteq

I seem to remember reading something about Beethoven being given a gift of a complete edition of Handel's works. He liked to point to the volumes and say 'Ah, therein lies the truth' - or something like that!
