Wonderful music and performance in equal measure. Wondering who composed this jazz-tinged music.

The only suggestion I have is when the music descends - especially with those beautiful parallel chords - it should do so more slowly and gently like leaves leisurely descending in air.

Where are our commentators today? Lol!

Billy Mayerl (1902-1959) was a classically-trained British pianist with a keen interest in jazz. He gave the first British performance of Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue in 1925. His charming little piano pieces are not heard often enough IMO, and it's great to hear this so well performed with Pianoteq.

@alex-plays.org - Thank you for these excellent moments - really great to see the explorations into all kinds of piano music. I'm sure it's incredibly inspiring for so many people - wonderful to say the least.

Excellent to experience Alex's videos. Such a talent and viewing this, we instantly understand the love for music and certain affinity with the piano at work here.

Such super results with obviously talent, hard work, dedication to the piano and the range of musical and other choices (accomplished well) - and props too to the environment made possible by family! who are commendably giving such fine support to their child - and a good set of choices regarding hardware, Pianoteq, presets, production.. and this list may go on!

A good musical home is always a joy to behold and wishing all well and hoping to see more of Alex's superb triumphs

@gtingly - you're right - I often enjoying this section of the forum but don't comment enough to show support here, I really enjoyed your recent orchestrated piece - eyebrows raising with a smile all the while thinking of how you must have worked on it, such detail, quite a treat - amazing work - and wish you well setting up your new super-setup. Hoping you're lining up more pieces to turn into releases.

@dazric - thanks for your intro on Billy Mayerl - also I really enjoyed your recent video, super to see that process using the advanced tuning panel to copy the egg slicer's notes! It's novel, creative, instructional and fun, really a delight

I read somewhere that Billy Mayerl earned the equivalent of £80 k per week taking inflation into account.  His background was the performance of sound tracks, typically improvised, during the early days of cinema.  He wrote some fabulous music, some of which has been lost, and is not well known today.  He ran a piano correspondence course from a school in London.

Thank you so much for your kind words of support and encouragement.  It is humbling that anyone - especially musicians - should appreciate these videos, and an honour to introduce others to the music of Billy Mayerl.

Thank you...  We are very impressed with Pianoteq and Modartt very generously gave Alex a discount because he is in full time specialist musical education.
