Topic: Piano model. Soundboard-bridge-string. Video.
I was curious to see some details of the behavior of the strings, stegs and decks. I created a model that models this if possible. Model settings are given in the description of the video.
Of the interesting things -
1. - The waves from the impact scatter in different directions. As the wave moves in front of it, small high-frequency waves begin to run forward. It turns out that a moment before the arrival of the main wave, small high-frequency oscillations come into the deck.
2. - The mobility of the rod is such that the string after some time begins to twist. (the calculation time is too short to see it to the full). The oscillations quickly leave the strictly vertical plane. This is reflected in the photo (the calculation took place up to 0.1 sec).
3- it can look pretty and informative.
The last part of the video contains an image of natural frequencies. The numbers in this case cannot sufficiently reflect the correct values since the model does not contain information about the anisotropic qualities of materials, as well as the anisotropic properties of attenuation in materials. If someone can tell me the correct values, then the model can be made more accurate.
I am looking for information for corrections and clarifications ..
4- shift of some frequencies of string vibrations from the calculated ones.
(how to fill in these matrices?)
