Topic: Pianoteq self consistency

Hi everyone!
Here’s a digital music world absolute beginner, who would love to play the game of playing and enjoying Pianoteq instruments. What I would like to be able to do is “only” plying, registering and mixing pretty well together some midi tracks obtained by Pianoteq, and maybe others instruments (basically my Clavinova and optionally some others VSTi). And, here’s my (silly, i’m afraid...) question.
Is Pianoteq togheter with its instruments, at the basic level I need for getting started, self consistent? Or does it needs a DAW, let’s say Cubase?
[My Hardware stuff: PC windows 7 pro 64 bit, Sp1, 3,3 GHz i3 CPU, 8 GB RAM + Steinberg UR22mkII + Clavinova clp 675 + monitors and cables.]
Many thanks and kind regards,
Marco

Re: Pianoteq self consistency

Pianoteq has a self-contained version which runs free-standing as a Windows application. I use the basic Pianoteq Stage this way, just start the program and play.

It can also be installed as a VST instrument in a DAW for recording, but simply for live playing, the self-contained app is very straightforward.
