Topic: MIDI recording and sustain pedal

Hello,
I'm doing these actions:

1) I start recording MIDI events, I press the physical sustain pedal, I press a key and I release the sustain pedal. I stop the recording and I play the result: the action of the pedal unit has been recorded.

2) I start recording again, but this time I won't use the physical sustain pedal. With the mouse, I press the software sustain pedal, then I press a key (physical or virtual does not matter) and finally I release the pedal again with the mouse.

In the second test, when I play it again, the keys have been recoded, but the action of the pedal has not.
Is it normal or it is a bug?
I'm using Pianoteq Stage Trial v6.4.0

Sincerely.

Re: MIDI recording and sustain pedal

Thanks carlo_bra,

Reproduced this.

Maybe it's a rare thing though to record with mouse controlling pedals but if it's doable without harm to hook the pedals up in the same way as the keys, I'd be all for it.

I've long noted that mouse clicking the keys or pedals do not display in the Edit/Preferences/Midi tab list - so have not even attempted recording with mouse - so I suppose I'd also be inclined to also tack this onto such a feature. It would be nice to see the MIDI readout when clicking notes, even to speed up referencing at a glance for tweaking etc.
