I see alot of great videos with people playing filming there fingers and having Pianoteq as the audio. Can someone please tell me if there is a free video editing or capturing program that allows me to do this with my camcorder? I am completely new at this but would love to able to share some pieces on youtube etc. I have an older Sony HD camcorder with USB, a Korg Trinity and a Scarlet 2i4 interface.
Any recommendations on software would be great! I tried OBS but couldn't get the camcorder to locate.
Cheers

HI Budgewink,
I did all my videos with an open source softwares. My OS is Manjaro, but if you have Windows or OSx, the softwares are all cross plataforms.
I used OBS for desktop capturing and think you can capture your camcord some how. However it will be easer to record all of your pictures with your camcord and mix, remix, applying effects, cutting, and all film things with Kdenlive and using OBS just to capture your desktop.
Kdenlive is a really a great program to master your videos with ease and on youtube you have a lot of tutorials.
Ardour is a cross plataform, but is only free for linux os, for the other system cost very little. You can mix your audio and midi files. It is another great daw. But since I really love Reaper, and only cost $60.00 (Ardour is much less if it is not free) for this great DAW, I really prefer to use Reaper, it is just gorgeous.
Another audio software is Audacity and it is free and cross plataform.
I use GIMP too, just to edit some pics of my videos and it integrates so perfect with Kdenlive. Just like the adobe packs.
I belive you will have all tools to make a very nice videos with these free softwares. They are not perfect, still room to improvements, but here with my system they work so great 99% of the time.... and remember.. it is free. I am really, really grateful for all the team who work in these softwares.
And let me tell you, my hardware are very old (almost 9 years old), and still the softwares working great. The only problem was the time for rendering and a lot of pops when working with Kdenlive because too much effect. But if your gear is newer, you probably will not have these problems.
That is my 1 cent and hope I could help you some how.
Best regards
