Topic: Controlling the metronome

Hi,

Sorry for bombarding with all these posts - i just bought a new very very sweet and tiny usb-midi controller (korg nanokontrol) that really completes my roland fp3 weighted piano keyboard, and i'm hyped about controlling PTQ.

So regarding the metronome:
1) How about controlling the tempo via midi?
2) maybe even tap via midi?
3) What about metronome volume - it seems to have disappeared from the last version. (if it was there i would like to control it as well)?

thanks,
Eran

Re: Controlling the metronome

You are right, there is not yet any way of changing the metronome volume. Improving the midi player and metronome / tempo handling is on our todo list, so it is a matter of time

Re: Controlling the metronome

Hi,

I'd like to add my vote for ability to control the metronome tempo via midi.

Changing the tempo is the one thing I regularly do in Pianoteq that I'm forced to use a mouse or keyboard for, and it would be really convenient to use a midi slider instead.

Mapping the "tap" button to midi could be nice too, but personally I would find setting the tempo from a midi slider much more useful.

BTW, thanks for the improvements in version 4. I'm really enjoying the new D4.

Thanks, Stephen

Pardon me for resurrecting this old thread. I'd be a little surprised if Modartt were still working on this feature. After 12 years since the OP, is there still hope?

Usually - no. Implement some hack and hope it will be used by others... ? No?

I also think I would require this. Or rather, the alternative would be to mix in a metronome out into the headphones along with pianoteq.
A hassle!
I would require to setup the metronome like I can on my iPad - time signature, division etc.

If I were in a position of any power at Modartt, I'd long ago have considered a MIDI player that can loop sections, songs and lists now a definite improvement over one that can’t.  But after many years of my mentioning it, over and again, a loop feature is missing still, julien.

And, twelve years here seems an awful long time...
