Topic: Sony Headphone recommendation

Hi, I currently have a Sony Headphones MDRXB450AP with Extrabass,

I tested those on a store against some more expensive MDR100APP, i liked more the extra bass one  but only tested with audio files on my cellphone, no chance to test with my DP.

To use with Pianoteq 5 and get the most authentic piano sound possible, which ones are the most recommended??,  I have a chance to buy the MDR100AAP with a discount, but wanted to know if it is a good investment (i'm using pianoteq5 with a MacBookAir).

thanks.

Re: Sony Headphone recommendation

I would go or something else. Something open, actually. I play with not too expensive open Sennheiser cans (HD465). Using binaural settings in Pianoteq I often find myself taking them off to check whether my speakers are really not on: is sounds very real and spacious.

I'm absolutely loving the sound of my BeyerDynamic DT880.

Hard work and guts!

Re: Sony Headphone recommendation

I just use Sony head phones you can buy at Ross's for $20.00 or less, and I'm fine with them.

Pianoteq Pro 7.x - Kubuntu Linux 19.10 - Plasma Desktop - Hamburg Steinway

Kudos to the BeyerDynnamic DT880 headphones.  I have had mine since 1989 - they still are fabulous.

(ref the above: I like to have external speakers on while listening with the DT880s)

-  don't feel like a football helmet

-  longest headphone cord in the universe

Rhetorical, sure, but the fact  is  this headphone model is a classic
