Topic: 1885 Steinway "F" - Installation of PNOscan II & Stop Rail

Although this slideshow is created a few months after-the-fact, here is the annotated story of my installation of the QRS PNOscan II MIDI Sensor Rail and a Stop Rail into my 131-year-old Steinway upright, and then equipping it with a sound system.

Pianoteq sounds great, although I can't quite fool myself (though I have fooled others...)

Hello David,

Congratulations on your being the proud owner of the oldest "electronic" piano in the world.   Maybe, some day, #53795 will find its way into the Smithsonian Institution in Washington D.C. or the QRS Hall of Fame.

All kidding aside, I really enjoyed how you documented this project with illustrative photography and clearly-written narrative.  You can be proud of your accomplishment!  A doctor neighbor of mine owns an old 120+ year old Model F that was in his family since new.  Truly, the sound is "in your face" when you play it!

Cheers,

Joe
