Topic: PianoTeq having problems when run as VST in bitwig studios
Hey guys, first time posting here...I've got a pretty technical problem...maybe someone can help!
I recently decided to download and learn bitwig studios as a new DAW, after using Cubase for a long time.
My PianoTeq 5 Stage vst plugin has certain notes that when played in bitwig only play the attack portion of the sound; no sustain, no release. If I hold the note down on my keyboard, for example, you hear the initial pluck but that's it. This isn't a problem for any other vst plugin - all of my synths work perfectly!
The notes where I only get the initial pluck are all the way from A0 through C3 on the midi keyboard (although on the piano roll in bitwig these are labeled as A-1 through C2), and then C#4 through A4 on the midi keyboard (labeled as C#3 through A3 on the bitwig piano roll). So quite a substantial portion.
As a test I tried drawing in notes in those ranges in the note editor, and they were able to play just fine, getting the full sign. I thought this might be a problem with my midi controller (I'm using a Doepfer LMK2+), but again, this isn't a problem using any other vst . I can switch out which vst plugin I'm using on the same instrument track to something else and it'll work perfectly, so this is really driving me cray. I've been using Cubase as my DAW till now and it never has a problem running pianotTeq.
Any ideas what's going on here? I have to think that there's some sort of midi channel problem inside the settings of pianoteq that I havevn't had to mess with til now, since pianoteq has no problem creating the sounds when the notes are drawn in, and my doepfer is able to split things into multiple zones. It's not a problem for other vst plugins so...maybe some sort of setting is getting changed in pianoteq when I pull it into bitwig?
Sorry for the long post, just wanted to reiterate everything I've tried...thank you!v
