Topic: Return of the VAX77

Infinite Response, makers of the VAX77 folding keyboard with PolyAT, High Resolution MIDI Velocity, Release Velocity, etc. have started a Kickstarter project to produce a new non-folding hammer action keyboard with the same features for a quarter of the price. I own a VAX77 and using the Hi-Rez Velocity really works well with Pianoteq, but it looks like they will have a 96 key(!) controller that will cost all of $700.

Re: Return of the VAX77

blimey!

Re: Return of the VAX77

Seems I'm in, going to donate.

Re: Return of the VAX77

Too bad it's non-folding.

Re: Return of the VAX77

So glad to found this piece of news after years of hoping for 88-keys. Look like 96-keys is finally possible with VSL Vienna Imperial.

Well, that added $1000 to the cost. I'll sell you my VAX77 for a good price once I get the NewVAX, because I use it in my studio only.
Speaking of which, they are getting close to their Kickstarter goal. 96 adjustable hammer-action keys for $700, what's not to like!?

Re: Return of the VAX77

Preaching to the choir here... but I'm totally in. I like the idea of a kitset.

Re: Return of the VAX77

Its took me a lot of guesses to retrieve these video after I have forgotten them for more than a year, that Stevie Wonder and VAX77 and is interesting melody for a low quality video.

Marzzz,

Since you were the original poster and as you own a VAX77 I suggest that you start a new thread using "VAX MIDI Keyboard Controller" as the title.    VAX77 is out of production and the new title would be more appropriate as its likely to be a long thread.

I too am considering investing in this opportunity before the 13th.   ( 8 OCTAVE)
Unfortunately it would cost me $1148 when shipping, VAT and 3.7% import tax is added

Re: Return of the VAX77

Not sure if you can try another way, purchase 6-octave and ask for 8-octave chassis for future expansion.
After campaign, the addon 2 octave module will cost 200USD. You should confirm with Van to be sure.
