Topic: FXP Challenge: 'present' bass
For those with tactile transducers like the Dayton Puck to give that sense of 'presence' to the bass notes (and the other notes as well), or a real piano, the sound can be close to perfect, perhaps even ideal. For headphone users or less than optimal speaker setups; not so much. I found v5 to be a lot better with the low notes in terms of presence, and saw that I could finally tweak the partials such that the notes feel 'present'. I don't have the pro version, so I will issue a challenge for those who do and are more experienced in getting 'that sound'.
To give an idea of what I was after, here are the spectrum modifications for the notes in question. The starting preset is the default D4 "Daily Practice". Do whatever you like (changing microphone positions, # of mics, any and all parameters) to convey your idea of a 'present' bass.
