Topic: Non-equal tuning

Hello everybody, I'm a musician and composer (actually my main instrument is trumpet). I'm experimenting in my music a lot with non-equal temperament (mainly just intonation and non european tuning systems). I'm looking for a keyboard instrument or software that I could use in a LIVE situation, that fits well in a group of ACCOUSTIC instruments. It should be possible to programm several tuning sets and switch the tuning system during a musical performance in a fast and easy way.
You think, it is possible to use the pianoteq software for that?
Thanks for sharing your experience in the field!

Yes.

Re: Non-equal tuning

More specifically Pianoteq has a number of alternate tunings built in, and in addition can use scales defined by the Scala program (http://www.huygens-fokker.org/scala/).   You can download a file with a huge number of Scala scales from that website (or use the software to create your own) which can be loaded into Pianoteq.  Then its a matter of defining presets using the scales you want and creating midi events (program changes or whatever) to allow you to change presets easily in a live situation (read Pianoteq manual)

Re: Non-equal tuning

If you search on "temperament" you'll find quite a bit on this forum. One of Pianoteq's strengths is its ability to load in ANY temperament and react to that in the same way an acoustic instrument would.
