If I change an original preset then there is the word (modified) following the preset name. Even if I don't save the changes the preset remane modified after a new start of the software. How can I return to the original preset settings?

You need to sellect the original onboard preset again, case have already closed pianoteq.
But if you did not closed the window, you can use the undo button, arrow pointing to left near the Design adjusts controll.
Click on the preset name and hold the button for about a second before letting up. That will take it to its original value.
