Topic: SM Pro Audio V-Machine does anyone know of compatibility with pianoteq

Just a very short question. I've read about the SM Pro Audio V-Machine that is capable of running vst instruments, so that you don't have to use your laptop while playing. Does anyone know if it would be working with pianoteq? I'd love to get rid of the laptop on the piano, so I can use it for other purposes

Forget it, V-Machine does not have nearly enough CPU power to run Pianoteq.

Hard work and guts!

are you sure about this? they have a 1GHz cpu, but i dont know which one. My laptop gets only busy up to 20% cpu usage and I thought when the box does not worry about gui and other stuff it might work...

EDIT: Okay I googled it. Sad thing

I'm very sure, as I do have one V-Machine myself. Pianoteq demo can be run, but you get 2 notes of polyphony at best. It's a 1 GHz single-core CPU, not an Intel, not an AMD (I think it's VIA), which is very lousy in practice.

However, it's ok for running VB3, so that's at least some redeeming quality.

Hard work and guts!

Good heavens, it's not even nearly as fast as my netbook in that case, and my netbook is certainly nothing special! I forget what polyphony I achieved when I tried it, but it was up in the 20 to 30 range.
