Topic: Select Preset by sending Midi message?

Is it possible to select a Preset by sending a Midi Message, e.g. a patch message from the keyboard to the computer?

This would allow to change from say a grand piano to an electric piano sound without having to adjust the setting from the Pianoteq user interface. Very handy between numbers in a live performance situation.

Presumably this can be done?

Thanks for your advice

Yes, it can be done. Go to preset management screen, you will see a list of presets. Right-click on the desired preset, and then select "Assign MIDI event". Now send the desired program change command from your controller. Rinse and repeat for as many presets as you need. That should be it.

Hard work and guts!

Fantastic, thanks for your assistance!

Re: Select Preset by sending Midi message?

Hi, I'm new here. And I'm using the Pianoteq Stage trial version at this time,
Before I buy the app. I'm trying his features, and one of the most important for me, to integrate the plug in a application that I've build with MaxMsp. is to see if it's possible to recall the normal factory presets via midi program changes.
It seems to be possible in the easy way described in the post above, but on the trial version, if I close the plug (also before the 20 minutes of the trial periode), all the program change setting gone lost.
Is this a limitation of the trial version or I forget to save a user preset file? I don't need to save a user preset file!
Best regards
