I see that both Pianoteq standalone and plugin are configured for 5 outputs.   When using Pianoteq as a plugin in Ardour3 (Linux DAW), I'd prefer to have only 2 outputs, i.e. L, R stereo outputs.   This way I could add other downstream plugins like reverb which expects only 2 inputs, and which will not work with 5.  There is a workaround - I can send just the first 2 outputs to another bus and add plugins to there.  However, it would be nice if I could configure Pianoteq to create only 2 outputs.  Can this be configured?  If not this would be a feature request.  Thanks for the Linux VST version which works great.

So the native VST version works fine in Ardour ? That is great news, I had not yet taken the time to check the native vst support of ardour !

There is an undocumented feature, that we do not support, but may work: if you rename the pianoteq vst "Pianoteq36.so" to "Pianoteq36_2chan.so" , then it should load as a simple stereo synth. It's not tested, though, so I can't guaranty that it will work.

I have tried your 2chan suggestion and it works in both Ardour3 and Qtractor, 2 Linux DAWs (using linux version AVLinux).  The default 5 channel version of Pianoteq did not work in Qtractor, probably because Qtractor was not expecting 5 outputs.  Note that Ardour3 is the new, alpha version of Ardour which includes midi.  The stable version of Ardour, Ardour2 does not have midi sequencing (or support native linux VSTs, AFAIK), so Pianoteq cannot be used with it.  Thanks for the tip.
